Victorian Garnet Pearl Dangle Earrings

I created these luxurious Vintage inspired Garnet and Pearl earrings with sold Sterling Silver, Upcycled Vintage and new Freshwater Cultured Pearls, featuring radiant hand faceted and polished Garnets.

     I love Victorian jewellery, incredible pieces encrusted with Garnets and ancient medieval jewellery made with Garnets and white pearls. Garnets have adorned royalty for thousands of years because the colors of the stone radiant in the light, the effect is almost Spiritual.

   The large hand cut Garnets are faceted to reflect light beautify (7mm),  accented by decorative Sterling Silver daisy beads, on top is a vintage half round or button shaped Vintage white Freshwater Cultured Pearl, another daisy bead and toped with a round polished Garnet (4mm).

    The base of the earring has rare, tiny drop shaped, white Freshwater Cultured Pearls dangling from beneath the large, faceted Garnet on the bottom.

  The earrings dangle on french (fish hook) style earrings wires, but you can also choose other styles like posts and leaver back.

     I chose high quality Garnets, as translucent as possible in a deep red color with a pinkish hue, I think they are more attractive than the common deep red, brownish color stones.

   There are many species of Garnets and come in many colors, the most common is deep red with a brownish hue called the Almandine variety, the pink to purple translucent Garnet is called Pyrope.

     Garnets are very special gemstones, used in jewellery for thousands of years. The color usually represents blood or life. Ancient Christian jewellery was embellished with Garnets to represent Christs blood, and some had pearls to represent tears or purity.
