Silver Seafoam Aqua Blue Sea Glass, Beach Glass Necklace

     One-of-a-kind, Eco Friendly, Sustainable Sterling Silver Aqua blue Freshwater Sea Glass Necklace with a lovely piece of vibrant aqua blue Sea glass in a Seafoam-like design made with Upcycled Sterling Silver, the narrow and wide pendant is an almost a bar style pendant (5cm by 6mm), but is has a texture similar to the sea foam on waves as they roll into the beach. 

   The naturally surf tumbled sea glass is set by wrapping the glass with a single piece of Sterling Silver wire to represent the movement of water, never ending waves around the glass.

  The pendant is attached to the oval link chain on either side with sparkly faceted Sterling Silver beads (2.5mm), they are securely wrapped with Sterling Silver wire. 

   The ends of the necklace have wire wrapped beaded loops with more sparkly faceted Sterling Silver beads.

   The necklace is adjustable with a 2” extension chain with a sparkly dangle on the end made with the same faceted Sterling bead.  The necklace fastens with a lobster claw clasp. 

     The seafoam like pendant has texture on one side and smooth on the back with a wire design that secures the Sea Glass, it measures exactly (5cm) 2” wide by 6mm on one end and 5mm on the other side.

          This piece of Aqua Blue beach glass was found while walking by the lake (Lake Ontario) near my home in Port Credit.

     I feel a sense of peace when I can repurpose and old discarded piece of broken glass that has been beautifully transformed by nature into a satiny smooth treasure and to upcycle, reuse Vintage Sterling Silver for the pendant. 

      I used the glass just as I found it on the beach. I did not drill or alter it anyway. The glass was naturally polished in the lake, tossed back and forward in the waves. 

   Beach Glass is also called Sea glass, but Sea Glass comes from the ocean or sea and Beach Glass comes from freshwater bodies of water, like this glass from Lake Ontario.

    The glass forms a smooth satin finish after being tossed around in the water, hitting the rocks for many years. The process takes much longer in the lake compared to the huge ocean waves therefore it can take 50 years or more to form a full satin finish. Beach glass is an Eco Friendly, Sustainable Alternative to Gemstones.

     Beach Glass and Sea Glass represent transformation and renewal.
