Eco Friendlier Sterling Silver Art Deco style Opaliate and Amethyst necklace handmade with a combination of Upcycled and new Opalite, Amethyst and Sterling Silver.
This one of a kind necklace is delicate and impactful with stunning color and luminous. The almost vintage pendant (3.2mm long) from an old piece of jewellery with a large drop shape Opalite stone set in Sterling Silver with an oval shape faceted pale purple Amethyst. The Amethyst is sparkly and the Opalite is a milky white stone that glows with blue and some gold.
The pendant dangle from a wire wrapped 6mm round translucent Amethyst, accented with decorative Sterling Silver beads. The Amethyst and pendant dangle from the center of a stream of new Opalites (4mm & 6mm round) accented with sparkly faceted silver beads securely wrapped to the gorgeous diamond cut oval link chain.
One end of the necklace has wire wrapped beaded loops attached to a 2” long extension chain with another sparkly faceted Sterling Silver bead dangle. The necklace fastens with a lobster claw clasp.
Opalite is a man made opal, it is a milky white to translucent stone, each stone is different. They seem to glow with luminous blue and sometimes gold color that appear in different areas as they move in the light. Opalite is beautiful, a wonderful alternative to natural Opal and very easy to care for.
This elegant necklace is inspired by Art Deco style jewellery, it is a timeless design, perfect for any occasion.
Transformation is a major theme and inspiration in my work, taking something old, broken or discarded and creating something new, beautiful, and valuable.
It brings me peace and immense joy to create Sustainable, Eco Friendlier jewellery by Upcycling and Re-purposing old, vintage, broken Sterling Silver jewellery whenever possible.

SUSTAINABLE & Eco Friendlier: I created this necklace with Upcycled Sterling Silver, Amethyst and Opalite, combined with new, using hand tools and the most earth friendly methods of construction possible. I purchased my materials locally in Canada. This necklace is made to last a lifetime with care.

- Amethyst is the Traditional and Ancient February birthstone (Ancient: Hebrew, Russian, Polish and United Kingdom).
ANNIVERSARY: Amethyst is a 6th, 9th and 33rd Anniversary Gift.

MATERIALS: Upcycled Vintage Amethyst, Opalite, Sterling Silver & new, Amethyst, Opalite, Sterling Silver. (Opalite is an imitation Opal)
MEASUREMENTS: Necklace measures (43.5cm) 17” long with a (5cm) 2” long extension. The total length with extension is (48cm) 19” long.
The drop from the top of the necklace to the base of the opalite pendant is (4.7cm) long.

- I am an Eco Conscious artist, I love nature, so I go out of my way to create my jewellery with the most Earth Friendly methods of construction possible.
- Many pieces are created with Eco Friendly, Sustainable, Upcycled, Repurposed, Pre-loved Vintage Gemstones, broken jewellery materials, and found items like local beach glass.
- I create every piece by hand,
using mainly hand tools, natural light whenever possible and non toxic polishes and glues, etc with rare exceptions. I use many things from my kitchen to clean, polish and oxidize my jewellery.
- I use Eco Friendly, Sustainable packaging and shipping materials and we usually walk to the post office or take public transit to ship packages, further reducing my carbon footprint.
