Long Art Deco Style Tahitian Grey Pearl Cubic Zirconia Earrings-Freshwater Cultured

    I created these stunning long Art Deco style Tahitian grey color Freshwater Cultured Pearl Earring with Sterling Silver and large dark grey pearl with blue, pink, and green hues, dangling from a stream of brilliant Cubic Zirconia stones set in  Sterling Silver.

   The pearls called peacock pearls  because they are grey with a blue and slight green hue. The are large (9mm long) almost oval shaped and they look amazing dangly from the long sparkly stream of seven Cubic Zirconia stones set in Sterling Silver, attached to a french earring hook, all Rhodium plated to keep the stones sparkling. The Sterling Silver pin through the pearl is raw Sterling Silver. 

   This style is modern, stylish and they are inspired by Art Deco style earrings.

PEARLS:  are uniquely beautiful, satiny smooth, comfortable to wear, and they look better the more you wear them. Pearls absorb the natural oils from you skin, enriching their luster and preserving them.   

    Pearls are rich in ancient symbolism, these gorgeous gemstones represent transformation, perfection, purity royalty and wealth. I am amazed when I look at a beautiful pearl and imagine how an irritant was transformed into a precious Gem.

    I think about how a how a piece of sand, shell, or other irritant gets trapped inside a mollusk (oyster and commonly mussels) irritating and damaging some cells (a cultured pearl has the irritant surgically inserted into the mollusk) then it releases a substance called nacre that forms a smooth shinny coating around the irritant. Over many years, layers of nacre build up and create a luminous pearl. The longer the mollusk is left in the water, the larger the pearl will grow. It's amazing to think how something that was once an irritant that damaged cells could become a beautiful, precious Gemstone as the result of a healing process.

     Pearls vary in color from white, cream, pink, peach and grey to almost black. The most desirable pearls have colorful hues or overtones, for example white pearls with a pink hue or grey pearls with blue and green hues. The thicker the nacre, the more shinny and luminous the pearl with be. Pearls can be round and smooth or have wonderful, varied shapes and textures like Baroque pearls.
