Feather Aqua Blue Freshwater Sea Glass/Beach Glass Pendant

   One-of-a-kind, Eco Friendly, Sustainable solid Sterling Silver and Aqua blue Freshwater Sea Glass pendant with a detailed feather pendant.

    I created a water inspired, wire wrapped design with solid sterling silver wire. The wrapped Beach Glass pendant alone measures (23mm x 17mm). The whole pendant measures (44mm long) from the top of the ring bail to the base of the feather pendant.

    This feather pendant dangles on a lovely Sterling Silver Rolo link chain and it fastens with a spring ring clasp.  

     This rare piece of aqua blue Freshwater Sea Glass/Beach glass was found on the shore of Lake Ontario in Port Credit near my home while out for a peaceful walk.

     I wrapped the satiny smooth glass with a single piece of Sterling Silver wire to represent the movement of water, never ending waves around the glass.

     Beach Glass and Sea Glass represent transformation.

     I feel a sense of peace when I can repurpose an old, discarded piece of broken glass that has been beautifully transformed by nature into a satiny smooth treasure. I use the glass just as I find it on the beach, it has not been drilled, polished, or altered in anyway.

      Freshwater Sea Glass also called Beach Glass is more rare than Saltwater Sea Glass. It takes at least 50 years to form the satin finish in the lake compared to the oceans with salt water and stronger waves.

Beach glass is an eco friendly, sustainable alternative to gemstones.

     Transformation is a major theme and inspiration in my work, taking something old, broken or discarded and creating something new, beautiful, and valuable.
     It brings me peace and immense joy to create Sustainable, Eco Friendlier jewellery by Upcycling and Re-purposing old, vintage, broken Sterling Silver jewellery whenever possible. 

     Feathers are inspiring symbols; they have special meaning to people all over the world, they often represent freedom, or feathers from Wings of Angels sent from God, symbols of Gods protection as written in the Bible: Psalm 91:4 “4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;” and Psalm 91:11 “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;”
