Eco Friendly Aqua Blue Beach Glass Strength Pendant (Lake Glass/ Freshwater Sea Glass)

    Eco friendly Sterling Silver Beach Glass pendant made with Upcycled, Repurposed Vintage Sterling Silver and Upcycled local Beach Glass from Lake Ontario. Beach Glass is also called Freshwater Water Sea Glass.  

      I upcycled the Sterling Silver from an old piece of jewellery, I hammered, shaped and the metal into a lovely long almost rectangular shape with fascinating textures, it is a little sculpture. I attached a lovely pale aqua blue piece of Beach Glass by wire wrapping the pendant with Sterling Silver wire.

      The pendant dangles on a high quality, Italian Rollo style, Italian Sterling Silver chain. This necklace fastens with a spring ring clasp.

     I found this precious piece of Aqua Blue beach glass while walking by the lake (Lake Ontario) near my home in Port Credit.

      I wrapped the rare aquamarine color blue glass with a single piece of Sterling Silver wire to create a playful little pendant. The single piece of wire represents the movement of water, never ending waves around the glass.

     I feel a sense of peace when I can repurpose and old discarded piece of broken glass that has been beautifully transformed by nature into a satiny smooth treasure.

      I used the glass just as I found it on the beach. I did not drill or alter it anyway. The glass was naturally polished in the lake, tossed back and forward in the waves. 

     Beach Glass is also called Sea glass, but Sea Glass comes from the ocean or sea and Beach Glass comes from freshwater bodies of water, like this glass from Lake Ontario.

    The glass forms a smooth satin finish after being tossed around in the water, hitting the rocks for many years. The process takes much longer in the lake compared to the huge ocean waves therefore it can take 50 years or more to form a full satin finish. Beach glass is an Eco Friendly, Sustainable Alternative to Gemstones.

     Beach Glass and Sea Glass represents transformation and renewal.
