This is an elegant cork necklace made with genuine Portuguese Cork cord and a brilliant crystal encrusted magnetic clasp that sits in the centre of this cork necklace. The crystal clasp is also the focal pendant on the necklace.
I created two styles; one has natural cork cord and the second has a natural cork cord with some silver metallic splashed baked onto the cork.
This is a unique, modern, minimalist style Cork cord necklace. This style is easy to wear, it is perfect for any occasion, you can wear it every day and it is sparkly enough for special occasions.
The sparkly rhodium plated clasp pendant measures 9mm, the total length of the clasp is 15mm wide. The cork measures 5mm.
Cork: I love using Portuguese Cork in my jewelry because it’s so rich and beautiful, each tree produces a different pattern and color, so each piece is unique. Cork has so many wonderful quality’s, it’s Vegan Friendly, Eco Friendly, Ethical and Sustainable and it’s durable (more durable than leather). This is a superior leather alternative.
The Cork trees in Portugal can live up to 200 years. The cork is carefully harvested every 9 years, then the trees are cared for until ready to harvest again.
The thin layers of cork are sewn into cords, some with fabric inside to create a rounded shape or sewn flat, just perfect for my Cork Jewellery-Cork Jewelry.
My gluing process takes a great deal of time because I use Non-Toxic, Vegan Friendly, Cruelty Free Glue. If you are ordering a custom size, please expect to wait 7 days until ready to ship. I have many ready made pieces.
