Aqua Blue Beach Glass Feather Pendant- Freshwater Sea Glass

     I created this one of a kind, Beach Inspired Feather Pendant Necklace with solid Sterling Silver and a lovely piece of aqua blue Beach Glass (freshwater Sea Glass) from Lake Ontario.

     This is an Eco Friendlier Pendant with pale aqua blue Upcycled, Repurposed local Beach Glass from Lake Ontario. Beach Glass is also called Freshwater Water Sea Glass. 

       I wrapped the little piece of Beach Glass with Sterling Silver wire like a little sculpture and then I attached a detailed, three-dimensional Feather pendant that dangles from the base.

     This rare piece of pale aqua blue piece of beach glass design (21mm long) looks amazing with the detailed three-dimensional Feather (17mm long), all together the pendant measures (4cm) 1 5/8” long including the 6mm round bail.

      The pendant dangles on a high quality, Italian Rollo style, Italian Sterling Silver chain. This necklace fastens with a spring ring clasp.

     I found this precious piece of Aqua Blue beach glass while walking by the lake (Lake Ontario) near my home in Port Credit.

      I wrapped the rare aquamarine color blue glass with a single piece of Sterling Silver wire to create a playful little pendant. The single piece of wire represents the movement of water, never ending waves around the glass.

     I feel a sense of peace when I can repurpose and old discarded piece of broken glass that has been beautifully transformed by nature into a satiny smooth treasure.

      I used the glass just as I found it on the beach. I did not drill or alter it anyway. The glass was naturally polished in the lake, tossed back and forward in the waves. 

     Beach Glass is also called Sea glass, but Sea Glass comes from the ocean or sea and Beach Glass comes from freshwater bodies of water, like this glass from Lake Ontario.

    The glass forms a smooth satin finish after being tossed around in the water, hitting the rocks for many years. The process takes much longer in the lake compared to the huge ocean waves therefore it can take 50 years or more to form a full satin finish. Beach glass is an Eco Friendly, Sustainable Alternative to Gemstones.

     Beach Glass and Sea Glass represents transformation and renewal.

     Feathers are inspiring symbols; they have special meaning to people all over the world, they often represent freedom, or feathers from Wings of Angels sent from God, symbols of Gods protection as written in the Bible: Psalm 91:4 “4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;”
