Victorian Garnet Flower Fire Necklace

   If you love Victorian jewelry, you are going to love this one of a kind necklace created with Upcycled / Repurposed Vintage and new materials and garnet color Czech fire polished glass.

    I upcycled a decorative, filigree piece of metal from and old piece of Vintage jewellery, it is very ornate, dark oxidized silver metal, decorated with little flowers and wonderful filigree petals. 

       I used the petals to cradle a deep red 10mm round Czech Fire polished glass bead, then I attached a smaller (4mm) bead to dangle from the larger, and then dangled another (6mm) bead from the swaged chain below.

   I used shiny black gun metal plated chain (that looks like vintage aged silver) to create a long swag from the pendant and then attach another red glass bead.

    The openwork setting allows light to shine through an illuminate the deep red glass and show the rich color. I’m not sure of the age of the vintage pendant.

   The pendant is attached to the chain, and it fastens with a lobster claw clasp. 

   The red is rich and looks amazing when the light flows through the sparkly, translucent glass, like red fire inside the fire polished glass, it looks amazing with the dark metal, just like Victorian aged silver jewellery set with garnets.

    I prefer to use more Ethical materials like Czech Glass Beads because they are uniquely beautiful and actually made in small factories all over the Czech Republic, supporting local families. They have been creating these amazing glass beads for over 150 years, famous for their high quality, distinctive designs, unique colors and finishes.

   I love the look of jewellery made with shinny black Gun metal for many reasons. I adore vintage jewellery, especially the highly desirable dark oxidized silver set with gemstones like cherished Victorian Jewellery. The black metal is stunning in my modern pieces, it always looks elegant.

  The gun metal finish is easy to take care for, you just wipe it clean if it gets dirty. Dark metal is versatile, perfect for everyday pieces and elegant enough for special occasions. 

     Transformation is a major theme and inspiration in my work. I love to create Eco Friendlier jewellery by Up-cycling / Re-purposing old Vintage Gemstones, Silver, Brass, Copper, Glass beads, broken jewellery, etc., It brings me peace to work with more Ethical materials and great joy to transform them into new creations, heirloom jewellery to be worn and loved for many years.
