I love life, learning and growing, so I am fascinated by the brain and how it works. I am amazed at what we can do if we try and that is what I was thinking about when creating this necklace.
I found this square shape with black enamel in an old broken piece of vintage jewellery, I cut off some broken pieces, filed, sanded and polished the silver, then I had to polish and restore the black enamel.
As I was working on the square piece (rounded on the edges), I was thinking about how we really need to think outside the box, outside the norm. We need to expand our minds and try new things, new ways because there is so much we can do, if we just try.
I was thinking about my own experiences and how I used to be discouraged and still struggle with my disabilities, but, now, I see that I am capable of doing so much more than I could have ever have imagined, so much! With this brain and my faith, I really believe Anything's Possible! that is why I named by business "Anythings' Possible Jewellery".
I was thinking about how elastic our brain is, how we can learn and train our mind to change our reactions to things, emotions and even pain.
I was thinking about all those neurotransmitters and dopamine, etc., traveling and firing along the nerves in the brain, so I chose Rainbow Moonstone ( milky white with luminous spots of color that appear as the stones move in light) and round, high polished Sterling Silver beads to wrap them with wire into paths that travel in and around the roundish square black and silver pendant.
I chose a sparkly Flat Cable link chain (the flat, polished links on the chain sparkle as the light bounces off them) to further represent the electrical impulses with each little sparkle of light.
I had a lot of fun creating this necklace, up cycling old silver, thinking about all the amazing things I have learned and accomplished as well as all the things I have yet to do. I was also thinking about how I was making something new and beautiful using something old and broken, an old brain can still learn new things, lol!
There is so much joy in this necklace, I love to up cycle / recycled old silver and I really hope it inspires someone else to think outside the box, to try, to learn and grow and have a full, wonderful, extraordiary life.
This one of a kind necklace is powerful, but, it will also appeal to the minimalist because the pendant is not too large, it only measures 26mm x 25mm on 3mm chain. The colors are so easy to wear: black, silver and milk white moonstone with tiny splashes of color in the light.
I love making jewellery, it’s a gift, so I make all my jewellery with prayers and blessings for a Long, Happy, Healthy, Peaceful & Prosperous Life!
